Dolores "Dolly" Sanbe, 79,
owned grocery story, hotel

Dolores "Dolly" Rossetti Sanbe, 79, of Aston, a retired businesswoman, died Nov. 12 at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Born in Caserta, Naples, Italy, Mrs. Sanbe came to the United States as a child and settled in Phoenixville, where she was educated.

Mrs. Sanbe moved to Chester in 1927 with her husband, Alfonso Sanbe who died in 1957. Together, they operated a grocery store in the 400 block of W. 3rd Street, Chester, for 25 years until 1955. They also owned and operated the Franklin Hotel and Bar at 3rd Street and Concord Avenue for 15 years. That business is currently operated by her brother-in-law, Vincent Sanbe.

Most recently, Mrs. Sanbe served as a housemother at Friendly Acres; Secane. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Aston.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Charles A. Sanbe of Aston and Nicholas A: Sanbe of Brookhaven; a brother, Anthony Rossetti of Phoenixville; four grandchildren and five great.grandchildren.

The funeral will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 2316 Providence Ave., Chester. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Aston. Burial will be in Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Upper Chichester. Calling hours are after 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice, 9th and Wilson Streets, Chester, PA 19013
